Our science study Radinger et al. (2023) was nominated for the Frontiers Planet Prize 2025 as one of the top 3 breakthroughs in sustainability research in Germany!

In cooperation with a large number of fishing clubs organized in the Anglers' Association of Lower Saxony, we were able to prove that renaturation measures aimed at improving the environment promote fish stocks more sustainably than traditional fish stocking. The special feature: The results are based on a globally unique whole-lake experiment that has never been implemented in this form before.

We are now competing with two other German scientists for the title of “National Champion” from Germany. If we win this award, we can win 1 million US dollars in a final selection from 23 international research groups. We can make good use of this money for further research into the fundamentals of sustainable angling. Keep your fingers crossed for IFishMan!

The prize is selected by an international jury of 100 of the leading sustainability researchers.
